Stetson Meadows

Located in Norwell, Stetson Meadows is a 184 acre property with natural wetland habitats. This trail system is ideal for hiking and birding. You'll have the opportunity to walk through the forest, along the marsh, and run through a field. Stetson Meadows is one of the more quite trails in Norwell - despite being located very near 3A. History

The Stetson Ford property was issued to Robert Stetson as a land grant in 1634. Robert Stetson was very involved in developing what is now known as the South Shore. He developed two saw mills that were instrumental in ship and dam building. He was also involved in acquiring Abington and Hanover and led a group of men in the King Phillips War.

Stetson Meadows was known as the 100 acre farm and remained in the Stetson family for 130+ years until Stetson's son Ebenezer's widow sold it to a shipbuilder, Michael Ford. The last family to own the 100 acre farm was the Mortons before it was sold to the town in 1972.

• Picnic site - located right off the parking lot area in the field
• Many benches! - there are benches scattered through the conservation site. If you see one, take a seat. It'll be a great view.
