Twin Ponds Trail

Abington

Dog friendly ADA: No Free

Located in Rockland, Twin Ponds Trail featuring scenic pond views. This trail system is ideal for hiking and swimming. The Twin Ponds Trail is a series of loops -- a larger loop connecting to two smaller ones -- winding through meadow and past vernal pools before reaching two small ponds; the Thompson Pond Trail runs nearly two miles out and back, crossing French's Stream to reach the pond's scenic northern shore, where a boardwalk and benches await. If you're up for a longer walk, the trails connect south into the Rockland Town Forest, and remnants of the old airfield -- including a decaying control tower and hangar bays -- can still be spotted to the north off Adams Street. Also explore Rockland Town Forest and Summer Street Conservation Lands, other trails in Rockland. Try Summer Street Conservation Lands for a similar trail experience featuring pond.
