Driftway Conservation Park

Located in Scituate, Driftway Conservation Park is a 334 acre property with natural wetland habitats. This trail system accommodates hiking, picnicking, and fishing. In the 1930s, Boston Sand and Gravel owned this property and mined it for projects like the construction of Logan International Airport -- you can still see vestiges of the wharf built to transport sand via barge to Boston. Today it offers walking trails, a fishing pier, a small boat launching ramp, an open field, and picnic benches, plus a great vantage point at Lookout Hill, the highest point in the park, with panoramic views of Third and Fourth Cliffs and the mouth of the North River.
