Kapell Pinnacle Preserve

Kapell Pinnacle Preserve is a 51 acre property featuring scenic pond views. This trail system is perfect for hiking. The property sits within the Zone II wellhead protection area for the Town's South Pond wells and abuts the federally designated Great Thicket area, land set aside for shrubland and young-forest wildlife habitat. Once complete, a wide, flat, grassy trail will circle the bogs with an in-and-out spur into a mature white pine forest. Try Whiton Woods and Cedar Crest for a similar trail experience featuring pond.

FLAG FOR JEN -- VERIFY BEFORE PUBLISHING: the Town's own project page shows this preserve was closed to public access starting the week of Feb 2, 2026 for restoration construction (culvert/water-control removal by contractor SumCo), originally estimated at 8-10 weeks (~early-to-mid April 2026). The April 2026 trail guide includes full visiting details as though it's open, which suggests it may have reopened, but I could not find an explicit reopening announcement as of this search. Check the Town's site (plymouth-ma.gov/1190/Project-Information) or their Instagram (@plymouthdnr) for current status before publishing this trail as open to visitors. Also note: horseback riding is explicitly NOT allowed here, per the Town's trail information page -- worth calling out since most other Plymouth preserves do allow it.
